MG Timber Construction is led by Morgan Campbell, who brought a lot of the skills from his army career straight into carpentry: attention to detail, discipline, and an eagerness to create things with his hands. Every job runs on the same principles: get the best possible result on the work itself, and give the client a great service alongside a great outcome.

Morgan leads a team of five skilled carpenters: a mix of time-served tradesmen and City & Guilds qualified professionals, all CSCS carded, delivering timber frame builds, cut roofs, bespoke joinery and full extension and loft projects across South Wales and the borders.

Are you insured?+

Yes. MG Timber Construction Ltd carries £15,000,000 of public liability insurance covering both the business and every member of our team, including employers' liability.

Do you offer a guarantee on your work?+

All work is guaranteed. The specific length and terms depend on the type of work being carried out and are set out clearly in your quote and the terms and conditions we both sign before starting.

How quickly can you survey my project?+

We aim to carry out a survey within one week of your first enquiry. Once we've seen the job, we issue a fixed-price quote so you know exactly where you stand before committing.

What deposit do you take and how are payments structured?+

A 15% deposit is taken on booking to secure your slot. The balance is paid in staged payments through the project, structured to suit the works and agreed with you in writing beforehand.

Do you manage the whole project or just the carpentry?+

Both. We work as a standalone carpentry trade for builders and developers, or as your single point of contact for extensions, lofts and new builds, managing architects, plumbers, electricians and private building control on your behalf.

What areas do you cover?+

Newport is our base and we cover Cardiff, Usk, Brecon, Powys, Monmouth, Pontypool, Chepstow and across into Gloucestershire. If you're nearby, get in touch; we're happy to travel for the right project.
